Campbell Alliance, a management consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, announced today that Robert Navarro has joined its Executive Advisory Group. The group is a team of industry professionals established by John Campbell, president of Campbell Alliance, to bring special expertise to bear on highly complex engagements. Mr. Navarro will focus on managed care issues, working closely with Campbell Alliance’s Managed Markets Practice.
Mr. Navarro has a distinguished professional history in the healthcare industry. After earning B.S. and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, he practiced in acute care and community pharmacies. He has also worked at various managed care organizations, including United HealthCare, Health Net, and Express Scripts, Inc. More recently, Mr. Navarro has been a consultant to the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
Mr. Navarro is an industry leader on managed care issues. He co-founded and served as the first president of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), now a 4,500-member professional association. He edited the pharmacy practice section of Managed Care Interface journal from 1988 to 1999 and served as chief editor of the well-known 1999 textbook Managed Care Pharmacy Practice. Mr. Navarro is also a frequent writer and featured speaker on managed care topics in the U.S. and abroad.
At Campbell Alliance, Mr. Navarro will be working closely with Kevin Barnett, vice president in charge of the firm’s Managed Markets Practice. “Robert is an exciting addition to our team,” said Barnett. “He has been a friend of our firm for years, and we’re excited to have him join us. His knowledge and experience in managed care will be a wonderful added resource for our clients.”
John Campbell plans to expand the Executive Advisory Group as additional opportunities to retain highly respected industry professionals with valuable expertise arise. “We’re always broadening our capabilities to enhance client service,” Campbell explained. “Robert’s background and understanding of managed care matches up incredibly well with the sophisticated service offerings of our Managed Care Practice. As we find other professionals who can offer Robert’s level of insight in other key service areas, such as Business Development, Sales, and Brand Management, we will increase the size of the group.”
Campbell Alliance boasts a clientele that includes the world’s leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies. It currently has offices in Raleigh, NC, and Parsippany, NJ. The firm serves clients throughout the US, Europe, and Japan.
