Campbell Alliance to Focus on Marketing and Selling Changes Under Medicare Part D during HCPro Audioconference

Campbell Alliance, the leading management consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, today announced that Kevin Barnett, senior vice president and leader of its Managed Markets Practice, will be speaking during HCPro’s 90-minute interactive audioconference, “Promoting Pharmaceuticals Under Part D: Marketing, Sales, and Legal Considerations,” to be held Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. (EDT).  The audioconference will involve in-depth discussion of what sales and marketing teams need to do in the second half of 2005 to prepare for the implementation of the Medicare prescription drug benefit (Part D) in January 1, 2006. 


Barnett’s presentation will provide listeners strategic insights into understanding the roles and relationships of key Part D stakeholders, including Medicare beneficiaries and sponsors.  He will also cover key marketing and selling changes required under Part D in four key areas, including brand management, managed markets marketing, managed markets sales, and field sales. 

“As Part D implementation draws closer, pharmaceutical and biotech companies are starting to examine the potentially significant changes to the selling environment.  Strategic shifts are likely to occur under Part D in many areas, including product positioning, promotional mix, resource allocation, account planning, and sales force size, structure, and alignment,” Barnett commented.  


Since the passage of the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) in 2003, Kevin Barnett has been working closely with leading pharmaceutical companies to understand and prepare for the corporate and product-specific implications of the MMA, and Part D in particular.  Prior to joining Campbell Alliance, he held management consulting positions at Deloitte Consulting and the Mattson Jack Group.  Mr. Barnett has an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley Graduate School of Business.
